Beliza is a youthful and experienced therapist with a blended therapy style that can help your child. She lost her father in adolescence and knows the difference that therapy could have made for her at that difficult time. This desire to make a difference in a child’s life has driven her to be a therapist and helps her to connect to her clients. She has followed her calling with excitement and hope.
She was noted as one of the top school counselors in 2012 for going above and beyond her job at Killarney Elementary school. She has 15 years of experience with a focus on anger, anxiety, and giftedness. She loves working with ages 6-11 and can match their energy and enthusiasm.
She has worked in an agency office setting serving children and as an on site school counselor for elementary schools. She is a qualified supervisor for the state of Florida and has been invigorated by helping young therapists gain valuable experience. Her most exciting work has been in her practice in Oviedo with children, siblings, and parents. She is a proud owner of her practice and is excited to help other therapists grow into their vocation. Beliza enjoys fun at home with her chickens and active family.
Faith is a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern who has found her calling in child and adolescent trauma, major life changes (i.e., loss, moving, new school transitions, etc.) and other issues children often face such as depression and anxiety. She recognizes the importance of a young person’s initial encounter with therapy, and she strives to create a warm and comforting space in which her clients are able to work towards their therapy goals. She believes in creating a unique therapy approach tailored to each client individually, while incorporating the things they enjoy into their sessions like music or anime to promote engagement in their therapy.
Faith comes to us with a background in child and trauma counseling for over 2 years, and she is currently on her way to becoming a national Trauma-Certified therapist. Faith received her Master’s in Clinical Psychology from the University of Central Florida. During graduate school, she completed her internship at the Children’s Advocacy Center of Brevard in Rockledge, Florida and was hired-on as a therapist mid-way through her internship after she was recognized for her dedication and passion in working with traumatized and abused children.
Prior to graduate school, Faith contributed to the mental health field through her work in non-profit mental health organizations. She previously served as the Connections Program Director for the Mental Health Association of Central Florida (MHACF) and ran the program responsible for connecting individuals in need of mental health services with different resources. During the COVID-19 Pandemic, Faith helped create and hosted a weekly webinar series through MHACF in which she interviewed a number of professionals across Central Florida, and discussed various aspects of mental health and available resources during the quarantine.
When she’s not with clients you can likely find Faith curled up on the couch with a good book and her mini-golden doodle, Lily, or visiting one of Orlando’s theme parks (she loves Disney and Universal Studios!) with her husband. Faith is very excited to be a part of the My Oviedo Counselor team!
